It is helpful to us to have the online platform available so customers, especially those not familiar with our menu, can review the menu and order as they like — and particularly pay online, as we don’t accept any over-the-phone payments. The back of the house admin part is super easy. There have been very few issues over the years, but the support from Chris has always been good when needed.

Every card payment passes through the same four points. This is who takes a fee at each one, which is the question everybody asks and nobody answers.
You want to set it up yourself
You open your own Authorize.Net Gateway Only account and handle the configuration. We email you the referral link and charge you nothing.
Your site can already take payments
We configure the gateway, connect it, run test transactions and show your staff how refunds work. No monthly charge from us.
No access to your website required
You have no way to take payment
We design and build the payment page, set the fields, receipts, notifications and fraud filters, test it, train your staff, then run it every month.
dotbm charges for the page and the setup. Authorize.Net and your bank bill you directly for moving the money, and Authorize.Net currently lists no gateway setup fee and no early-termination fee. We never take a percentage of what you sell.
Most businesses do not need more software.
They need the software they already have to work together. The accounting system knows what the job cost, the booking system knows when it happened, the bank knows it was paid, and a person spends their week carrying information from one to the next.
We start by watching how the work is actually done, because a fixed price on a workflow nobody has looked at is a guess. The Workflow Review is a written report, and it is allowed to conclude that nothing needs building. If it does find something worth joining up, the review fee comes off the build.
The review is $750, credited against the work. Joining the systems up starts around $4,500, with a managed service from $149 a month.

When a standard website is not enough.
A portal, a workflow or a multi-user application built around how your organisation actually works. We have built four of them for ourselves, including one that routes citizen reports across nine government departments.
A feature list is not enough to price custom software safely, so these start with paid discovery. It establishes the users, workflows, data and risks, then the build gets a real price. Discovery does not commit either of us to the build.
Projects typically start around $18,000, with a managed service from $499 a month.

Two of these are quoted rather than listed. Custom applications are priced after paid discovery, and automation is priced from the Workflow Review, whose fee then comes off the work. In both cases you get a written scope and a fixed figure before anything is built.
