Accounts needed to write to your MP

Figures from writethem.bm on 4 October 2026. They grow with every sitting.

The record was public. It just wasn't usable.

Writing to your MP in Bermuda meant knowing which constituency you live in, who holds it, and where to find their address. Most people stop at the first step.

What was said in the House sat on parliament.bm as PDF transcripts, years of them, that nobody browses. WriteThem takes those records and the people who made them and puts them in one place, after mySociety's WriteToThem and TheyWorkForYou in the UK.

Find your MP

From your parish to your member in two clicks

Pick your parish, then your constituency, and your member is there with their party, their role, their official email and a Write button.

Every member's page carries an accountability scorecard: recorded absences, speeches, speaking time, questions asked and their rank among the House, all counted from the Hansard. Any two members can be compared side by side.

Write to them

A letter, not a ticket

Start from a blank page or a template: a community concern, a request to meet, asking for their position, or a thank you. A letter can also be written about a particular bill, vote or question, and it links to it.

The Write to David form, empty: templates along the top, then name, email, constituency, subject and message, with writing tips beside it

1

You write

Your name, your email and your message. No account, and a guard against spam that never asks you to prove you are human.

2

It lands in their parliament inbox

The letter goes to the member’s official @parliament.bm address, with your email set as the reply address.

3

You get a copy

The copy says plainly what happened: delivered, no email on record, or sending failed.

When they reply, it comes straight to you. WriteThem is not in the middle of the conversation.

The record

Every sitting since 2016, read and searchable

Every Hansard PDF is read and split into individual speeches, with the speaker, the topics and a short summary of the sitting in plain words. Search runs across all of it, by word, member, chamber or date.

Questions, committees and bills sit alongside, each bill tracked through its stages. And the votes page says what most people don't know: of 798 recorded votes, only 68 list who voted which way. The rest are recorded as passed or failed.

The bigger picture

The state of Bermuda, on one page

The State of Bermuda page shows where Parliament stands today: the seats in the House, the days since the last sitting, and this session against the last.

The Throne Speech tracker follows every commitment the Government makes each November and how many were delivered. And Learn explains how Parliament works in plain English, for anyone who never had it explained, with notes for teachers.

The result

writethem.bm is live and free. Scrapers read parliament.bm every day, election results from elections.gov.bm, and the Gazette, tenders, press releases and travel from gov.bm every week, so nobody has to keep it up to date by hand.

A Bermudian can go from "who represents me?" to "here is what they said last week" to "I am writing to them about it" without leaving one site.

Alongside fix.bm, it is half of a civic pair: one for reporting problems in your neighbourhood, one for reaching the people who set policy. New to it? How to find and contact your Bermuda MP.

Sitting on records people should be able to search?
